What is better than receiving a candle through the mail that smells of your favourite flower?!...
when you find out there's a jewel inside of course!
The candle I received from Imperial Candles is the flavour 'Peony Pomegranate', and is 21oz (it is actually ten times bigger than it looks in pictures) of hand poured soy wax with a jewel (worth anything from £10 to £2,000) hidden in every candle.
The jewels are placed roughly about half way down every candle and to get it out, you have to burn your candle until half of the foil starts to poke out of the top of the wax, snuff out the flames, and then remove the jewel with a set of tweezers.
Now admittedly, because the candles are so big, it does take a little while for the wax to actually melt down to where the jewel is (mine took a week). So, a little tip for you all is to pour away some of the wax at the top of the candle when it doesn't seem to be melting down any further. This way, you'll get down the candle much quicker.
My hidden surprise was a set of emerald and cubic zirconia earrings worth £20, but who knows what's inside of your candle?!
If you're not one for candles, then Imperial Candles also have a range of bath bombs that you can also try, which have jewels in too.
