Everyone needs to take time, right? Whether it being taking time for ourselves, taking time for loved ones, or taking time to be young at heart again, the Timex x Peanuts collection has no limits - it's loved by all. I remember many of my childhood years were spent watching Snoopy and his friends adventures, and as a child I was totally engrossed by how a dog and human could communicate without directly understanding each other (I mean, aren't we all.) Now 12 years on, I'm not ashamed to admit that when I have a spare minute, I'll sit and watch old Peanuts episodes, reminiscing about the good ol' childhood days - where paying bills wasn't a 'thing' yet, and the only thing I had to worry about was whether the answers on my maths homework were right (they never were, I'm rubbish at maths), or whether to have chicken nuggets or turkey dinosaurs for dinner. When I caught wind of the collection, it brought a huge smile to my face - what better way to peoples hearts than by bringing their favourite childhood characters back to life in the form of a watch? When you're counting down those last few hours in the office, looking at your watch will actually make you happy (instead of sad!) Each watch from the collection (there is four to choose from; Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy & Linus) has not only a themed face, but a matching themed interchangeable strap too (all straps have a slight pattern on, except for the Snoopy version which is an un-patterned red). As well as this, the watch hands are designed to look like the moving arms of each particular character (cool right), BUT the main attraction for me HAS to be the Indiglo light up watch dial, meaning I don't have the hassle of patting down my whole bed in the middle of the night to try and find my phone for the time. I chose to go with the Lucy watch, and Joe chose Snoopy. Although, all watches are unisex so you can swap about as many times as you like, and match your watch to whatever outfit you’re wearing. Whilst wearing them on the tube, I had so many “OMG, is that Peanuts watches?” (Mainly from adults, might I add!) which brought a massive smile to their faces. Each watch from the collection retails at £59.99 and comes with the classic Timex box. The Lucy watch was perfect for my trip to Milan; as the clouds on the strap represented to me being ‘up in the clouds’ - something which was definitely accurate - as it was foggy the whole morning until 2pm! Each watch comes in only one size; but is just the right size to look fine on both women and men. I always thought of Snoopy as an explorer, so this inspired us to be like Snoopy and Lucy, and go exploring in Milan. Sadly we didn’t have that much time there (only 1 full day and 1 half a day), but we managed to adventure Milano Centro (the Duomo area, Galleria Vittorio Emmanuel) and even out towards the Navigli area, which is very much like Venice, and is a tourist hotspot at night for restaurants. Lucy and Snoopy didn’t manage to convince me to be adventurous with food though - I’m a creature of habit, and LIVE for gnocchi and tomato pasta or bufalina pizzas. We stayed a 15 minute walk away from the Duomo at a hotel called Chateau Monfort - the hotel is a fun themed hotel based around childhood fairytales - perfect for our trip inspired by becoming young at heart again! So, if you fancy a little blast from the past and a bit of nostalgia, the Timex x Peanuts collection is for you. (Especially as Christmas is coming up!)
